Critical tinking

                                                         rliberni.wordpress.com(2013)

1. In my opinion critical thinking means think logically and carefully.

2. Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skilfully conceptualizing, applying, analysing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action. In its exemplary form, it is based on universal intellectual values that transcend subject matter divisions: clarity, accuracy, precision, consistency, relevance, sound evidence, good reasons, depth, breadth, and fairness.

Culture

                                                                       trepidtravel.com(2013)

My definition: Culture is all the knowledge and the living style of a society. Some traditions and special events differentiate a society from other cultures. Every society has different culture, mostly culture belong with their religions. In the whole world we have many symbols of cultures like some old buildings describe some cultures for example Muslims culture belongs with Islam and go to mosque for pray. CARLA's definition: I my opinion I completely agree with the statement, it explain the correct aspects of a culture. I grew up in a Muslim country Pakistan so my thoughts and my life style represents my culture because my parents and elders taught me that manner which belongs to my culture and society and whenever I compare my culture with other cultures I find it different and unique because of its qualities ways of life.

Sports

                                                           undwoodpark.co.uk (2012)
Which is more important in sport – winning or taking part? Are you a good loser?

Sports are the best time pass which make you fit and prevent from many bad habits like smoking, drinking, drugs etc. Victory is for only one team in every game so if the match is good and fair than that does not make any difference who is winner.;

2. Should we always try to keep politics out of sport?

Yes, we should always keep politics out of sport because sport represent a true and fair event and if politics will be include in it than it makes that game worse. People will stop following the sport which will be a huge loss for mankind. It will affect the sports man spirit as well.

3. What are the most important events in the sporting calendar in your country? Which of these events do you enjoy most? Why?

Cricket is the most important event in my country. Especially the match is between Pakistan and India. It is the most popular match in cricket and many cricket followers watch this. It is because of rivalries of both nations.

4. In Britain, the big events include the boat race, the Grand National & the derby (horse races). The five nations (rugby) the FA cup final (football), the test match (cricket) and Wimbledon (tennis). Which of these would you like to see? Why?

I would like to see cricket match because I am a follower of cricket and I have been played for my countries junior team.

5. Is it easy to take part in sport in your country? Which sports do you do and how often do you take part?

No, it is very easy to take part in any sport in my country. I played cricket for my country for 4 years. I go to my cricket club 4 days in a week.

6. Who are your sporting heroes and heroines? Why do you admire them?

Imran Khan is my sporting hero because he was a really good player of cricket and worldwide recognised person because of his sportsman spirit. He was declared the most attractive person on late nighties.

7. Should the Olympic Games be held only in Greece or should they change between different countries? Where would you like to see them held next time?

They should change between different countries so that each country can take part on organising the Olympic Games. I would like the Olympic game to be held in Britain next time.

8. Do you think that boxing is a true sport? Should it be included in the Olympic Games? Should it be made illegal?

Boxing is purely man’s game it should be included in Olympics. Many people follow this game it shoes the stamina of a man and many legend players were came out from this game like Muhammad Ali.

9: Which is your favourite sport to watch and what do you think are the qualities of a good team or a true champion in that sport?

Cricket is my favourite sport and I like to watch it. A good team should be calm and full of sports man spirit because it is not that important who win the game but sportsman spirits is more important which make a man to player.

UK Riots

                                                            guardian.co.uk (2011)

On 6th of august 2011 a terrible incident happened in history of UK. Some protestors came out in London and they got violent. Later on many people joined them and they converted into riots. It was started on 6th and it was stopped on 11th of august. The reason of this protest was that a police officer shot a person mistakenly because he was carrying a gun. Protestors made a huge mess in the main cities of UK they were stealing shops, malls; they destroyed the infrastructure which costs millions of pounds. London riots started from London and later on it covered the big cities of UK. UK lost a huge amount of money in this incident. In my opinion government should take a serious action again the riots because messing and destroying public properties is not legal whether they are protestors so they should protest with a peaceful manner. And social media played an important role in London riots because many people were encouraging other people to come out and join the protest which was a cause of big disturbance in the UK.

Yes, Radi did very well. His presentation was very good it was informative. If he will more organise his presentation so he can more better. He can do his presentation with a bit more formal style so his presentation will be catchier. The topic was very interesting so I like his major it is very important branch in the field of Medical. He can get more information from medical websites and journals. Some points were difficult to understand in the PowerPoint but when he explained so I was cleared about them. He is very determined about his major so I wish him good luck and I believe if he will be devoted like this so he will be a good Psychologist. He needs to exclude difficult point from his presentation and speak with a formal way so he will be excellent. Basically I was cleared about all my points during the presentation that’s why I considered his presentation.

Crime and punishment

                                                               aztec-history.com(2013)

1- Should the death penalty exist as a punishment for murder or terrorism?

It depends on the circumstances like if the person did it intentionally he must be punished hard or he/she consider as a terrorist but if he did mistakenly than he must not be punished hard and he supposed to take some relaxation.

2- Should the main purpose of prison be punishment or rehabilitation?

The main person of prison must be not punishment because some people could bear the punishment but they did not change their slaves in a good way so rehabilitation should be the best way to teach and preach them that they did wrong in the past and they should not be like that. However, rehabilitation will play a good role in society which will make surely better future.
3- What is the best way to deal with juvenile crime such as?
Joy-riding:
Juvenile should be treated with in a good way like teach them in schools and tell them what can be the circumstances of their acts they should not be treated harshly because they are youngsters and if we teach them exact thing it will be helpful for future they can surely make a good society and it will decrease crime ratio as well because mostly people commit crime the age of 15 to 20.
Vandalism:
Vandalism should be band completely because it created by the Adults and they should not behave like that if they want to change something and something is being wrong with them they have to take a step against that but peacefully not destroying the public properties. Like couple of years ago it did happen in the London and the riots destroyed the public properties and burn the houses, they steal things which disturbed the whole UK. Firstly it started in London and then it spread to the whole country which made the cause of billions pounds and some people were killed in that strikes.

Graffiti:

Graffiti is a very bad act, people try to do it and they make their own city dirty. writing on walls is very stupid act people should aware of it that they are making their own cities walls dirty.

4- Is it ever right for political activists to break the law?

No. they should not break the law after all they are the citizens of a lawful country and rules, laws are the same for everyone. They have to protest with a peaceful way.

5- How strict should the law be with who drink and drive?

I believe the law have to be very strict about the people who drink and drive because they can be a cause of big accident and might be he kill itself as well. So law must be very strict about it.

6- Which is the more serious problem in your country - tax evasion or social fraud?

In my country Tax evasion is a big issue, people don't give tax to governments and that people are mostly millionaire are who can impose their impression on other higher post officer’s weather they are government employers. According to Kemal (2007) ''Rise in the underground economy creates problems for the policy-makers to formulate economic policies, especially the monetary and fiscal policies''.

7- Should the police have the right to stop and search you in the street without a warrant?

No. They are not allowed to search any person without warrant because it’s against the law and human rights as well.

8- Should the law respect the rights of homeless people to squat in unoccupied property or

Shop doorways?

No. Law is against of it, law don't allow homeless people to squat in that place which they nothing to do with. They don't occupied it so they can't stay there.

9- Should smoking cannabis be a crime offense?

Yeah it should be a crime because it is not good for the health of people and in meanwhile when they are smoking it could be harmful for the other people as well.

Time Management

Many people are not good in time management because they do not focus to manage their time. I am also not very good in time management but I am trying to make it good. I have made a time table and I wrote all the tasks categorically which are important and which are unimportant. I usually suffer with mismanagement due to carelessness so now I am focusing to correct my daily routine which can help me in time management. Firstly, I am trying to less sleep and wake up early in the morning which will make me fresh whole day and I can perform my tasks actively. Secondly, I am trying to avoid multi-tasking which will help me to do my work on time and I can manage my time well. In my opinion: Everybody should make a timetable and arrange their tasks categorically that can help them in their schedule and they can easily manage their time.

TEAMWORK

Teamwork builds relationships between friends, increases accountability and we can get more ideas. Teamwork strengthens leaders and boosts self-esteem. Friends can know each other and the can easily get the idea about the others thinking and their opinions. We had a good conversation about the topics; we share the ideas and discussed them. There was disagreement on some points which made a hurdle in our group. Next time we will do teamwork with different way and we will try to remove that flows that we had todays class. The most important thing which has to remember when you are doing teamwork is; Listen other opinions first than share your ideas and discuss them and no need to hyper, Discuss it politely. And no doubt teamwork is the best way to leading the success it makes us more confident and broad.

The Welsh Assembly

There are some changes made after the referendum of 2011. Many people said “YES” to the referendum and some said “NO”.  There were 20 areas to the Wales Assembly to competence and list 7 schedule.  No more negotiations between UK and Welsh Government. Firstly, Green paper will be used for the discussion of new law in Welsh Assembly. Secondly, White paper will be used to organize the future details of policy. Thirdly, the draft Bill will be used for the public before being in the Assembly. Fourthly, Royal Assent is handed in the bill covert to an act of the Assembly. Lastly, the UK government will allow the Welsh government to make their own Laws with in the 20 developed areas.

Summary of a new Government

David Cameron began on 11 May 2010 when Cameron was selected as a PR (Prime Minister) of the United Kingdom. He is the leader of Conservatives. The Labour was in power since the Second World War in 1945, this is the first time in the history of 65 years that Conservatives made up a Government with the coalition of Liberal democrats. The Conservatives are in the favour of free markets, low taxation and privatization. In the general election the Conservatives won by 36% of votes, Liberal Democrats 23% and the Labour 29%. There are 650 seats in the British parliament in which Conservative won 306, Labour 258 and Democrats 57. It happened first time in the history that there was no one majority in election. Many British people agree that the electoral system in unfair and the Democrats stake on that as well.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the European Union

The EU (European Union) is a political and economic partnership between 27 countries. The union was created after the 2nd world war in November 1993. And the initial states who decided to join together to improve their economic situation were Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. After that with the passage of time many countries joined the EU and still go on.

Advantages:

The main advantage is that EU members can travel and work anywhere in EU. The second main advantage which helps a lot the EU that is Free trade zone, any country has completed access to others market in EU. Some people used to call it general advantage because it expands the size of market which brings a growth in the financial sector.

The EU member countries help the other poor countries which are the part of EU; they make good economic development in poor countries like Portugal. Eastern European countries such as Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary have also seen strong growth in real GDP.

 Disadvantages:

There are no checks are carried out at the borders of these countries which is a big security risk, the boarders are free for all the members, they can travel anywhere and anytime.

There are some democracies issues due to bureaucracy, nowadays there is a lot of disagreement between member’s countries because some countries like to do some things which other countries do not want to do. Every country has different point of view, Disagreement is the main disadvantage of being a member of EU.
